AS the sun’s last rays streaked the sky bubble-gum pink and tangerine, the residents of Con Dao Island were calling it a day, and the mile-and-a-half-long beachfront promenade that serves as this small Vietnamese island’s social hub was filling up as the heat of the day finally relented.
Con Dao Island off the coast of Vung Tau city is about 97 nautical miles and 120 nautical miles south of Ho Chi Minh City. The dry season is from February to June. The wet season is from July to September. From October to January is windy season.
With 12 hour train journey of the ship number 09 and 10, from Vung Tau to Con Dao and vice versa.
From Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao flight takes about 45 minutes.
